Using discussion forums

  1. The subject line (required) will help others see at a glance the topic of your post.
  2. You can type your message directly into the box, using the editing tools provided, or cut and paste from another application.
  3. Check the “subscribe” box to have posts to this forum emailed to you.
  4. To attach a file to your message, click the add icon (at the top left of this area) or drag the file into the space indicated. The file will be accessible to anyone who can read your message.
  5. When you are finished, click Post to forum. If you find that you made an error, you will have 30 minutes to return and edit your post.

Icons

This module uses icons to alert you to various types of content:

activity icon Activity

Getting help

If you’re having technical problems using Moodle, you have several options for obtaining help.

  1. The Moodle Docs for the current version of Moodle (v. 2.8) contain a wealth of information about using Moodle.
  2. If content such as a video or graphic fails to display or to load, try a different browser.
  3. Try these troubleshooting tips before seeking further help.
  4. Contact the Home Base support person for your LEA.
  5. If you are having difficulty accessing your certificate, please read the instructions on “Accessing Your Certificate” at the end of this course.
  6. If you have a question specific to the content of this course, you may contact the instructor via Moodle Message: Click the down arrow next to your name in the banner and select “Messages.” Be sure to indicate which course you are referring to, as for self-paced courses the instructor of record will have no other way to know.
