Ensure that the school performs through clear evaluative measures and voting. Lead by developing plans and procedures that drive the school’s performance.
Governance responsibilities include hiring the lead administrator, evaluating his/her performance, setting goals, authorizing plans and commitments, and evaluating the organization’s performance. Management has responsibility for leading and enhancing the overall performance of the organization and for implementing systems of governance.
To govern effectively is to ask “how well” questions. Management answers “how will” questions.
