Managing Instructors

All PD courses in Home Base have instructors assigned to them, even self-paced learning opportunities. Instructors have access to rosters and grades and, if applicable, the ability to edit the course in Moodle.

For self-paced learning opportunities, you can manage instructors from the Tools menu at the top of the screen.

For instructor-led courses, each section has its own instructors assigned. Manage instructors for each section from the Actions menu at the bottom of the management page for that section. Remember that adding and removing instructors for a section does not affect other sections, and that new sections will not have instructors assigned when they are created.

Adding and removing instructors

Begin with the Add Instructor Search.

Enter the first and last name of the person you wish to add as an instructor and click Find User. You will then see a list of names to choose from:

Check the box next to the name of the person you wish to add as an instructor. (Be sure to check that the location and role listed match that of the person you were looking for — there may be several people in the system with the same name!) Then click Add User to add that person as an instructor. You will be returned to the instructor search.

Now, you will see a list of the instructors you’ve added below the search form. To remove an instructor, click the X button next to that person’s name, or check one or more boxes and click Remove Selected.

Click Done to return to the previous screen (either Manage Section or Manage Self-Paced Learning Opportunity).
