2. In the year of your renewal, your supervisor will evaluate you three times. At least one of those three observations must be formal. In years when you are not up for license renewal, your supervisor can perform an abbreviated evaluation, which consists of two informal observations and a summary evaluation on standards 1, 4, and 6 only.
    3. As a probationary teacher who has never had tenure in North Carlina or who is in a probationary period in a new district, your observation cycle will consist of four observations, all formal. Three will be performed by administrators and one by a peer.
