Teacher Interview: Carrie Morris

My education began in numerous school systems due to my father’s Navy career. I settled in North Carolina when I attended Elon College (now Elon University) from 1991-1996, majoring in elementary education. After teaching in the Alamance-Burlington school system for one year, I transferred to coastal Onslow County and have been teaching first, second or fifth grade ever since. I earned my Master’s degree from UNC Wilmington and am planning to begin work on a second Master’s degree in school administration and curriculum instruction at ECU through the Principal Fellows program this fall.

Teacher Interview: Glenda Crocker

With 32 years of wonderful experiences I am ready to begin 2014 school year with excitement and anticipation. I have taught kindergarten, first, second and fifth grade during my eventful career. I obtained my masters and National Board Certification while teaching first and second grades. With all the new strategies and resources available everyday I am looking forward to learning right along with my first graders. I feel our state and my county have given opportunities and websites that have ensured me with valuable information and professional development. I am eager to facilitate learning to prepare my students for our 21st century with skills, vocabulary and the level of thinking necessary for our global view of the world.
